About Dr. Guyan Channer
MBBS, DM (ENT), FCCS, FACS, FANS
Dr. Channer developed a keen interest in Otolaryngology (ENT) while pursuing his MBBS medical degree at the University of the West Indies (UWI), Jamaica. While at UWI, he completed his ENT residency and went further to gain invaluable experience at several other institutions in the United Kingdom comprising advanced otology training courses associated with the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI).
Still advancing, Dr. Channer completed a fellowship in Otology, Neurotology, and Skull Base Surgery at the top-ranked University of Miami Miller School of Medicine to become the only Neurotologist in the English speaking Caribbean. Neurotology is a medical superspecialty within the field of Otolaryngology that focuses on disorders involving the organ and nerves of hearing and balance, and their course to the brainstem.
As an American Academy of Otolaryngology (AAO-HNS) scholarship awardee, he completed a training course at the acclaimed Johns Hopkins University, coached by world renowned physicians and surgeons. His drive to further help dizzy patients led him to pursue specialized training in advanced neuro-vestibular management from the American Institute of Balance (AIB). Dr. Channer diligently aims to establish the first Hearing and Dizzy Centre in the English-speaking Caribbean.

Aware of the on-going technological advances and research developments, Dr. Channer continuously upgrades himself by attending and presenting at several educational seminars, locally and internationally. He has published research and chapters in local and international journals and medical texts, thus ensuring that patients are exposed to the best treatment options available.
Dr. Channer is a fellow of the:
• Caribbean College of Surgeons (FCCS),
• American College of Surgeons (FACS), and
• The prestigious American Neurotological Society (FANS).
He is also a member of several local and international associations, including the American Academy of Otolaryngologist (AAO-HNS) and the Caribbean Association of Otolaryngology (CAO).
Presently, Dr. Channer serves in various capacities to include:
• Head of the ENT Department at Kingston Public Hospital and
• Associate ENT lecturer in the Department of Radiology, Surgery, Anesthesiology and Intensive Care at the University of the West Indies (UWI), Mona.
